Supervises laboratory personnel in the care and management of laboratory animals. 2. Ensures the availability of laboratory animals to different department’s as end users and researchers. 3. Manages in the procurement animals feeds, feed ingredients and veterinary medicine. 4. Assists in the procurement and quarantine of laboratory animals locally and internationally. 5. Monitors the health status of animal’s laboratory personnel in the department. 6. Conducts training of laboratory personnel, rotating veterinarian’s clinicians and other OJT Students in management and care of laboratory animals. 7. Reports and follow-up Engineering and Bio-Med. Departments in preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities. 8. Follow-up procure laboratory animals and others PR to procurement department. 9. Conducts rabies research studies and field works and other related animal zoonosis. 10. Formulates additional SOPS in Laboratory Animals. 11. Interviews patients and bearers of dogs head for rabies exam and snake species ID/exam. 12. Submits monthly quarterly and annual reports of laboratory animals.
Minimum Qualification Standards (per Civil Service Commission Quality Standards Manual); Education: Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job. Experience: Two (2) years relevant experience. Training: Eight (8) hours relevant training. Eligibility: Career Service (Professional) Second Level Eligibility. Additional Qualifications Preferred: (End-User’s Preference); Education: Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience preferably with experience in management care and breeding /production of laboratory animals. Preferably with experience in training laboratory personnel, veterinary clinicians and other professional academe. Training: Relevant training on handling and technique of laboratory animals with computer literate with knowledge on Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Filemaker, etc. Eligibility:
