Applicant must provide full scope midwifery care to obstetrical patients in accordance to approved midiwifery protocols.
- Coordinates, directs and implements prenatal and postpartum care.
- Assists Physician's needs in the OB-Prep Room.
1 ASSESSMENT. Obtain necessary data about the pregnant patient

? ? Fetal heart tone
? ? Frequency of Uterine contraction
? ? Other pertinent data and history
2 NURSING CARE PLAN. Plans/prioritizes activities considering overall health needs of the patient, the extent of his coping abilities including that of his family and significant others and his readiness, acceptance, and abilities for self-care.
3 PRE-OPERATIVE CARE. Monitor progress of labor and cervical dilatation as necessary. Communicates and report to charge nurse on duty any abnormalities in fetal heart tone and fetal activity
4 INTRA OPERATIVE. Assist patient in the delivery. Assist obstetrician in performing vaginal delivery. Collects and properly label collected specimen
5 POST OPERATIVE. Assist patient during post-partum period
Knowledge of current national initiatives and recommendations regarding maternity care. Innovative approach to midwifery care. Academic and/or Professional/ Vocational Registered Midwife. 12 months post registration experience within both the ward and delivery suite areas.
