Performs a variety of radiologic procedures to obtain data needed in the diagnosis and treatment of medical problems

6.   Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table

7.   Positions radiologic imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure  

      factors such as time and distance, according to specification of examination

8.  Sets up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready

9.  Removes and processes films; reviews and evaluates developed x-ray films to

     determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes

10. Coordinates work with other technologists when procedure requires more than

      one technologist
11. Supports/Performs necessary duties that may be assigned from time to time

      related to the over-all function of the Department/Unit

Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technologist with license to practice profession

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.                  <!--[endif]-->Experience

                        At least six (6) months experience or training in hospital x-ray department

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.                  <!--[endif]-->Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

            3.1       Knowledge of:

                        a)         Human anatomy and positioning

                        b)         Radiographic exposure and radiation protection

                        c)         Patient care

            3.2       Ability to:

a)         Numerical ability to calculate appropriate x-ray factors and formulas

necessary to     obtain satisfactory images and product as well as in the

preparation of contrast media

                        b)         Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of work area

c)         Verbal ability to give instruction to patients and to discuss radiologic

examination,    procedures and other related matters to the Chief

Radiologic Technologist or     Radiologist whenever necessary

            3.3       Skills:

a)         Manual dexterity to operate various radiologic machines/equipment
