BASIC FUNCTION

The  Clerk is responsible for the checking, charging, revoking and/or  updating of all the requisitions ordered for the patients through the MEDSYS.   He/she also in turn, acts as the receptionist in the Nurse Station, to accommodate any approaches or queries thereof

      SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.      <!--[endif]-->Encodes requests and charges on patient’s diagnostics, therapeutics and supplies utilized

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.      <!--[endif]-->Answer telephone calls and patient concerns and subsequently directing them to the concerned Nursing Staff.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.      <!--[endif]-->Maintains the computer equipment and reports to MIS for problems encountered in the computer system to ensure correctness of all data encoded.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->5.      <!--[endif]-->Gets medicines from pharmacy and supplies when delegated and or Nursing Attendant is not available.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->6.      <!--[endif]-->Checks and ensures completeness of : E-cart medications and all supplies.He/she also reports any Near-expiry medication and supplies to immediate superior.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->7.      <!--[endif]-->Assists patient and or relative to billing section to settle charges.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->8.      <!--[endif]-->Ensures completeness of information on the Letter of Authorization (LOA) form as required by the HMO.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

          Two-year Associate Degree in Computer Studies, or Caregiving with NC

           II or High School graduate or College undergraduate

       Has undergone and satisfactorily passed the training program of the hospital        

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.      <!--[endif]-->Skills

         Performs as a porter that enhances patient safety

         Training and development activities necessary to enhance a job-

         related  knowledge, abilities and skills.(e.g. Basic Life Support Provider)
